The Top Biggest And Leading Social Media Platforms

If you’re new to the internet—which I doubt—welcome. If you’re not, which I know you aren’t and have probably been on the internet since the early 2010’s, it sure is a wild ride, huh?

Back then we used to only have two to three websites or social media platforms that people only go to. Nowadays, you find these articles about the top 20 biggest platforms. We all know that there are more than that, which is why we have top tens or twenties and such. We used to just have them for fun. Just something to get away to and make new friends that we don’t see in real life because they probably live ten thousand miles away.

Now, you those platforms are being used by not just us casuals, but also by companies. They have learnt that the best way for them to get customers is to invade social media, hence you see so many ads there.

These are the top biggest social media platforms good for advertising.

Facebook

Facebook has been around since I was 11 years old. At least that was the time I was aware of it. At the time, it was fairly new and was just at the cusp of making Friendster as forgotten as it is now. Does anyone still remember that one? I do. And now, Facebook has become so huge that it has become the thing that people in their mid-twenties would dub “the place my grandma would frequent”.

Mark Zuckerberg definitely did something right there.

YouTube

Even back when I was ten years old, Youtube had already become way too famous way too fast. It’s so big now that actors and talk show hosts would use it get more popularity and to stay relevant. Because, you know, television isn’t really as relevant as it was before the internet. Youtube lets you look for videos so you could watch them unlike television that just throws stuff at you so you’re forced to watch them and suffer their commercials. Youtube used to be the one place where you don’t have to worry about commercials rudely interrupting your viewing. Not, you get these ads suddenly popping in out of nowhere, basically jump-scaring you while in the middle of the video. As much as I don’t want to admit it, at least television lets you know a commercial is coming through so you’re prepared for it.

But I digress. Companies are getting to places because of these ads and their channels on Youtube.

Messenger

Now what is an app related to Facebook, that’s main purpose is to simply communicate with other people, doing on a list that has advertising?

That’s it. It has advertising now. They learnt how to put ads in a messaging app because they knew it’s a super popular app that almost everyone uses. Good for them.
